Christmas Open House

The Hickman County Chamber of Commerce sponsors a “It Pays To Be Local” campaign encouraging people to make purchases local if possible because it increases the sales tax base.  During the Christmas Season the Chamber organizes a Christmas Wonderland Window.   The window space is donated by a local business on the town square and that window is decorated for Christmas with items given by local businesses.   When you make purchases with those local businesses you are eligible to register to win the items that will be grouped and given away in at least 20 drawings.  This “Shop Local” event is organized along with a Christmas Open House event in which local stores are encouraged to keep their doors open late for shoppers.  Santa visits with children in the Chamber office and Christmas stories are told by Mary Beth Pruett and Buddy Chandler.  The historic courthouse is lit for Christmas and the town is full of strolling Christmas characters wishing you a great holiday.    Christmas music and a live nativity are provided by the Crossroads Cowboy Church Worship Band. This event is November 29, 2014 beginning at 5pm.
